Prologue

Being, or having been, an international student is an exceptional privilege.

Not everyone has, or had, the chance; not everyone is, or was, ready for such an adventure.

As an international student you are, like it or not, something very special.

For a cerain period you find yourself exposed to an environment, that opens up, if you want to, amazing possibilites.

On the one hand you represent apart from your own person something from the cultur and mentality of your origin, on the other hand you try to get a picture of the alien world.

By all our varieties and the necessity for everyone to experience things on our own in order to come independently to conclusions: something most of us very well know to appreciate during this period: the connecting companionship with other international students and friends; the inestimable, as incomparable, contribution of everyone within the sworn in group, one would not, after short reflection, had wanted to miss for anything.

Let us for the time of our visit as guests give our environment on location as well as our friends and family at home consciously the chance, to take part in our life.

Let us try to appreciate new things without any prejudice, as well as to look for causes that unify, not seperate. Let us see the world with our own eyes, independantly from the opinion of others. Let us decide to make this time a special part of our life and finally let us voice our joy, by trying to express our gratitude for having received the privilege, during our studies, our work and our life in general.

And most of all: let us thus take this chance, we have received!

For your stay and your upcoming challanges, I wish you courage, lots of joy and all the best!

With love,
